How to register

As with CRB checks, VBS registration must be carried out through a Registered Body or Umbrella Body such as CAS.  From July 2010, there will be a new application form which can be used for VBS Registration, a CRB check or both.  The CRB website provides a very detailed e-guide on how to complete the new application form.

CAS members will send the application forms in to CAS for us to process and forward the application to the CRB.  Once the VBS have made their decision, the applicant will notified whether they are VBS-Registered and if so, will be given a registration number that their employers can use to check their status online. An employer must regsiter an interest in an individual with the VBS and ISA in order to receive information on the individual's status.
