How to apply?

To apply for a CRB check through CAS your church/organisation must first be a member of CAS.  Please see the membership page for more information if you are not currently a member of CAS.

Next, you need to obtain a Disclosure Application form.  Different denominations and organisations have different routes for distributing the forms; please click here for more details.

The applicant should complete Sections A, B, C and E of the new Disclosure application form.  Then they need to take the form to their local verifier along with some identity documents.  (The verifier is often the Church Secretary, Minister, Clerk of Meeting, Child Protection Co-ordinator etc.  Please check with your church/organisation or with CAS if you are not sure who can verify your application.  We will not be able to process the application if the verifier has not been registered with us.)  The verifier completes Sections W and X of the new Disclosure application form, a CAS form and Documentary Evidence sheet.  Their role is to check that the form has been completed correctly and to verify the applicant’s identity through checking their identity documents.

The completed forms and any payment (if necessary) should then be sent to CAS, 25 Marylebone Road, London, NW1 5JR. The CRB charge a fee of £36 for an Enhanced Disclosure for a paid worker.  The CRB do not make any charge for volunteers.  Informal members are charged an administrative fee of £12 per application.  All cheques should be made payable to the Churches' Agency for Safeguarding (or CAS) please.
