The Churches' Agency for Safeguarding (CAS) supports Christian churches and organisations across the UK to maintain a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults. We do this by providing an efficient Disclosure and Barring Service  (DBS) criminal records application service. We also offer safer recruitment training, information and advice. In addition, we work closely with our member denominations to positively influence safer recruitment policies affecting the faith sector.

YOU CAN NOW APPLY FOR A DBS CRIMINAL RECORD CHECK ONLINE

We are happy to announce that our new Online Electronic Application system is now live. We went live, on Tuesday 23 April 2013. This means that our member churches can now apply for a criminal record check electronically without having to fill out a paper form. It also means that they will receive the disclosure  results in record time - usually within 2-3 days from when CAS sends the form electronically to the DBS. The electronic form is simple to complete with very little risk of making mistakes. Our only advice is that applicants and verifiers take the time out to read the accompanying guidance notes both from CAS and on the application form before completing or verfiying the form.  Please contact us on 0207 467 5216 or email  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Please note that use of the electronic application service is not available to URC churches at present, CAS will inform URC verifiers when it becomes available.
